It was me All Along By Andie Mitchell

37% of Americans are overweight.
Andie grew up like many leaning on food for comfort. This lead to her being overweight for some of her childhood all through her teenage years and a few years into her adult life. She struggled with her relationship with food as there always was a surplus of it in her house and good habits weren't instilled in her growing up. When her dad passed away she leaned on food even harder. It helped her get through and feel whole.
Andie tried many different diets but none seemed to do the job. The book explains how she got to where she is today and how she became such a success.
I have a lot of respect for Andie. Not only did she overcome a struggle she had been dealing with her whole life but she also has kept all the weight off and managed to live a happy and healthy life style.
This book is for food lovers. This book is for those who struggle with food. Really this book is for all people no matter what your relationship with food is.
Andie is smart, funny and truly remarkable. She has a ted talk below that is a great summary of some of the things she talks about in her book. Check it out! She is truly inspirational.

The Siren

This book, blew my mind!
The Siren by Kiera Cass is about Her. The Ocean. Yes, she is a person and she has to eat just like the rest of us. So she has Sirens, like Kahlen sing and draw people into the ocean so she can gobble them up.
I went into this book not knowing much. I was reading the original self published version. After having it on my shelf for 3 or 4 years, (and now having the motivation because I'm meeting Kiera!) I decided it was time. And like I said, IT BLEW MY MIND!
At first I thought this book was slow pace and nothing was happening. But out of no where the characters started to develop. Love started to form. Although I'm not too sure what the New Siren holds I don't think I want to know. This one was the one that will always hold my heart.

Confess By Colleen Hoover

WOW. Can I just say Colleen Hoover is Queen of Contemporary. Always has been and always will be for me. Her writing is magical and this is one of my new favorites by her.
I decided to pick this book up and take it on vacation with me. Let me just say I did get yelled at once or twice for not being active in different activities because I couldn't physically put this book down.
This book is about Auburn, a young woman looking for a second job. From there she meets Owen. The most beautiful fictional boyfriend (Sorry guys, hes mine!). Obviously its a Hoover book so love eventually occurs.
Owen owns an art studio. Basically on the outside of his art studio, people can leave confessions and Owen takes these confessions and makes them into art. This was probably one of many of my favorite parts of the book. I thought it was super unique. I also learned that these are real confessions from real people that email Colleen before she was writing the book.

I found this book to be similar to Hopeless in the sense of there being many plot twists that I didn't see coming. These plot twists are what kept me reading and interested. Although there are not as many plot twists in Confess as Hopeless they are just as good.
I think anyone would be able to read and really enjoy this book. Its very relate able and you easily fall for the characters.
If I still haven't convinced you to read it, check out this amazing trailer.

Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover

ridge-ms.jpg (500×331)

Yet another book that captured me.
There are some books you read and know, it will forever be in your head. This is one of those books.
I was told Colleen Hoover is an amazing writer. That her writing is breath taking. This is the first book by Colleen I have read and all this is true and so much more.
The storyline is your average boy saves girl. Boy and girl fall in love but boy has girlfriend. Yet its not.
Sydney sits on her porch and listens to this mysterious boy......Ridge.......play his guitar every night at 8 pm. Ridge sees her singing along. Lyrics he didn't make up and he needs them. What does any sane person do. Write on a piece of paper their number telling the person to text them. You have a question.
Luck for Ridge, Sydney does. Sydney sends Ridge lyrics that Ridge loves. He thinks they are amazing. Though they didn't help him through his writing block they did however, find him his angel sent to earth just for him.
Sydney is left in the dark for a week, when she finally gets a response. Ridge thanks Sydney, as well as drops the bomb that her boyfriend is cheating on her. One birthday hour later, a rain down pour, loosing her purse, and many tears later, Sydney ends up at Ridge's apartment.
We find out more about Ridge and it defines him.
Slowly Ridge and Sydney fall in love. But how does that work when Ridge is taken by his long lasting girl he says he will never leave.
As much as my fingers want to keep going and spoil the crap out of you I wont. Maybe...this sounds amazing. Maybe.....it doesn't sound interesting. Either way the writing is the most beautiful thing I have ever read. Simply a master piece.
Maybe.....you should go pick it up right now......just sayin.

The Evolution of eBooks and their Affect

The first eReader, known as the Softbook was release in 1998. Few people were interested in it because it was expensive. Later, in 2,000 when Stephan King's book, Ride the Bullet, was released exclusivly in eBook form but only for a little while. Many people warmed up to the eReader. As more people became interested in this new device more companies adapted and made their own verstion of the eReader. Some of these companies included Barnes and Noble, Sony, Amazon. Shortly, in 2009 Amazon was offering the Kindle to 100 different countries.
As eReaders became more popular so did eBooks. Hardcopy book sales decreased as ebooks increased. This caused competition and for example Borders going out of the market.
Smart phones also helped eBooks grow. It became so easy to hit the purchase button and start reading the book right then and there rather than doing things the "old fastioned way"-my particular favorite.
In 2010 eBooks surpassed Hardcopies. For every 100 books that were purchased, 180 eBooks were  sold. Throughout that year eBooks sold 3x more books than hardcopies did. In 2011 hardcovers in each quarter of the year made around $123.3 million and ebooks sold were almost double that at $233.1 million.
These number have picked up speed. over the years. As time went on eReader prices became more affordable allowing many other people to purchase one. Then the eBook sales increased yet again.
Many people wonder where this is going to leave the books. The physical ones.
I believe one day, we wont be able to go to a bookstore and pick out a book. Or log onto amazon to buy a book, then impatiently wait for it to come, checking our mailbox everyday, excited to tear open the box or pull off the tab. I think that one day we will only have eBooks. Probably not in my lifetime, but one day because as technology improves, everything else does with it.
If we only buy eBooks, places like Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Chapters would no longer supply the world with physical books. If that happened, those of us who prefer hardcopies wouldn't able to find them for a decent price because those prices would skyrocket. Eventually, our used bookstores will run dry and go out of business. Would our librarys stay open? This is a great question. Would people still be interested in them when they could get the book they need in their hands in under a minute. Or would we have eLibraries? Most libraries already have this kind of system, but mostly have hardcopies. Can you imagine not having those excited days once a week of going to the library and feeling like Belle from Beauty and the Beast, having a relationship with the staff and browsing for hours. Everything would change.
I truly dread this day and hope it doesn't come in my life time. I hope for future generation too. Because can you imagine handing a child a book, having them looking up to you saying, "What is this Grandma?"

Don't Look Back By Jennifer L. Armentrout

"Don't look back........you won't like that you find."

This is the time of the year when the temperature finally starts cooling down, the leaves start changing color and falling to the ground, and the wind whistles. But for us bookloves, its also the time to find some disturbing, yet frightening books. Its the time when we bring out our creepy , and scavenge the shelves for books to satisfy our hunger for this exact time of the year.
It time for Halloween. Lucky for you, I found the perfect book.

Samantha finds herself walking along a road, with no recollection of who she is or what happened the night before.

Samantha is thrown into this world full of surprises and is forced to pick up the pieces. As her first week "home" goes by she figures out who she use to be-and she doesn't like a bit of it.
The old Samantha was mean-just to be on top, along with her friends. Her best friend was more like a frenemy. Her perfect boyfriend; was clingy, there were no butterflies. At least not with him........
If only Samantha could remember what happened that night she might be able to move on. There is someone who doesn't want her to remember. Threatening notes leads Samantha to wondering, could this be Cassie's murderer? Was Samantha suppose to die along with Cassie and why did this person want them dead?

This book is my definition of a perfect Halloween read. Suspenseful, intriguing, and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. This was my first Jennifer L. Armentrout book and it for sure, won't be my last! Her writing is gripping; will take hold of you and won't let you go.
I gave this book a 5/5 stars. It is definitely going to make it to my top 14 reads of 2014 and is my favorite book I read in September. I highly encourage you to pick it up, even if this genera isnt your favorite, this should make everyones top book lists of the year!

Q&A YOUNGADULTBOOKSFOREVER

Hey fellow book worms! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. The flow of school has been making me busier than ever before!
Today I am going to answer your questions that you asked during my giveaway. Thank you to all who participated!
Q- Have you read the Vampire Academy series? If not, you should definitely give them a try. :) (@frostbite2015)
A- I own the whole series. All 6 of them plus the add on series are kind of intimidating. I try to only read one series at a time. I have heard such amazing things about the series and hope to read them soon!
Q- What is the last book you read? (@booksonthedaily)
A- I just finished Don't Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout. This book was creepy and the writing was amazing. 5/5 stars you should defiantly pick it up! Expecially in time for Halloween!
Q- What books do you find it hardest to get through? (@whimsybookowl)
A- In the YA world? Probably destopian. I love them but at times there is just too much going on and it makes it hard to get through. And YA fantasy or just fantasy in general. I don't like it and can't get into it for the most part. But throughout all books? Besides textbooks? Probably adult books minus contemporary adult books. Their hard to follow at times.
Q- What is one book you read and wanted to like but just couldn't? (@piano_girl94)
A- There are a few. If I read a book that is hyped up  I expect to get a lot out of that book and for it to be amazing. Some that I didn't like that everyone else did are: Cinder by Marissa Meyer, Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, The Archives by Victoria Swab.  I may try them again or the sequels. I still own them all, so there is a chance.
Q-  If you had to give up one of your favorite books by law, what book would you pick? (@mrsjeffers2010)
A- Well.....the government doesn't know my favorite book. I would lie of course! Say The Hobbit. It would be like Fahrenheit 451by Ray Bradbury all over again! In the context of the question though, my favorite book, well my most recent would probably be either Don't Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout or Since you've Been Gone by Morgan Matson. Both amazing books! I would be very sad to see them go.
Q- Who is your favorite author? (@sapphirepheonix & @jordynwal_00)
A- When I am asked this I think about authors who have never disappointed me and I loved every thing I have read from them. I think of Kody Keplinger, Jennifer Brown, Simone Elkeles, Katie McGarry, Lauren Oliver. These are just a few that I have read 3 or more, of each of their books and they never have disappointed me. All amazing authors!
Q-  One is one life altering book and why? (@starshine773)
A- I am into books about real society problems so I have a few. I will list them and a brief summary so you will understand what I mean by society problems. The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams is about a girl forced to marry her 65ish year old Uncle.
Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott about a girl stolen and for years raped and doesn't eat because the man won't let her be over 100 pounds, he want her to be his "little girl." Little girl my a- food into her. Hate List by Jennifer Brown is about a school shooting.
Between Shades of Gray by Rita Sepetys is about a girl around the same time Hitler came to power but her dictator was Stalin. You watch her live in a concentration camp and its life changing. Maybe One Day by Meslissa Kantor is like The Fault in Our Stars exept its with best friends instead of soul mates. I pictured my best friend this whole book and it was eye opening. I love her writing and character voice.
Tease Amanda Maciel is about a girl who commits suicide and these 2 friends/frienamies are left with consequences, pain some regret. There are flashbacks and you can see what they did and form your own opinions, put yourself in any of the characters place. Lots of thinking and processing.
This Star Won't Go Out by Esther Earl and John Green it about Esther Earl the girl John dedicated The Fault in Our Stars to and her story. Its her diary entry's and blogs her parents wrote during her sick times. It was beautiful. At the end I felt like I really knew Ester and she was someone I thought I would be great friends with if I ever met. Then I cried realizing I would never meet her.
These books all were amazing. Please read them. This is one of my favorite types of read. I think serious topics need to be wrote about more and brought to peoples attention. Its interesting to see also what it's like to be in that kind of situation. Not interesting but just something you should think about. I believe my opinions are so strong because I have gone through all the "what if" questions. Sorry about the rant but again, something I love to read, talk and think about.
Q- What book changed your view on life? (@ahgelicaosales)
A- Again, the list above. These books make me think in a way that you don't usually do. For example yes, it would be terrible to be in a school shooting but reading Hate List showed me what its like and how everyone hates you and the emotional trauma. Its all there. Not just for this book but all the ones above and lots I haven't even mentioned. Those books are good reads for the brain and heart.
Q- How many books do you own? (@amynickmanscott)
A- Too many to count! Honestly, I am getting a new bookshelf that you can see the basics of what it looks like on my Instagram @youngadultbooksforever out of sturdy wood and brick and its going to cover half of one of my walls. Its going to be a library in my room and I will put up pictures once its done. So lots of books! Probably like 500-700. Somewhere around there if I had to guess.
Q-  Who are some of your book boyfriends?(@samanthannicole___)
A- Well currently Carson Ortiz from Don't Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout. (Sorry I keep mentioning this book but, its amazing) You know we met at the library a few weeks ago and after I read his pages if you know what I mean, there's no turning back. He's so nice and sweet to Sam with all she is going through. I just want him to come to my house and kiss me! He's adorable. To be honest I have a ton of book boyfriends because its easy for me to fall but, what can a book lover say, ya know?
Thanks for all the question! If you think of any more questions leave them below or on Instagram posts. Whatever works I will find them and answer them! I plan on doing this Q&A type blog once a month!
Also, I know I haven't been posting but from now on I plan on posting on Mondays and Fridays all book related content. Those days are for sure! With a possibility of more if you want and if I have time. Is there anything you want me to blog about? Please let me know!
Thanks for reading! Comments and feedback are always welcome!
